The 4-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert will let you explore the magic of the Moroccan Sahara (southern region) after leaving Marrakech, passing through the panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi N’Tichka Pass.
You will explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, the old Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. On the way to Roses Valley, we will drive through Ouarzazate, eventually reaching Dades Valley, where you will spend the first night after a long day.
We will then drive to the majestic golden dunes of Merzouga in Erg Chebbi, where you will experience the desert, ride camels, and spend the night in a Berber camp. On the way back to Marrakech, you will travel through the scenic Draa Valley.

Below is a detailed day-by-day itinerary of your 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech, including all the key stops, distance, drive time, and experiences along the way. This itinerary can be customized to fit your needs for the best experience.
The first day of the 4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will begin from your accommodation Riad or Hotel, after breakfast, we will drive through the high Atlas mountains, and Tizi N’tichka pass with its Panoramic views.
You will have a break to take some pictures, then we’ll continue our way to the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a prime example of southern Moroccan architecture. It is a historic Ighrem (ksar), as it is called in the Berber language.
It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. It is also featured in many films and TV shows, such as Lawrence of Arabia, Game of Thrones, and Gladiator as a desert backdrop. After discovering the kasbah, we are going to have lunch at one of the traditional restaurants that offer Moroccan meals like tagine, Moroccan salad, couscous, and mint tea.
Driving through Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara Desert, where the film studio is located, we’ll head to the Dades Valley for your first night on our Marrakech desert tours for 4 days.
After having breakfast, your destination will be Tinghir where Todra Gorge is located, one of the most spectacular landscapes in south Morocco, the hikers or the climbers’ paradise. Enjoy an amazing drive along the Dades and Todra Rivers, surrounded by palm groves and traditional Berber villages.
Before you get to the Merzouga desert, you will be able to have lunch and try the Berber pizza if you want to. After that, we will make your trip special by taking you to the Berber clothes shops where you can try Berber outfits, and take pictures at no additional cost.
Once you arrive at the majestic Merzouga Desert, you will hop on camels to watch the sunset on the high dune. Spend overnight in the Berber luxury camp where you will experience Berber culture, enjoy a Moroccan dinner, and listen to Berber music by the campfire under the beautiful sky full of stars.
The third day will start after a breathtaking sunrise and breakfast at the camp. We recommend an early wake-up to watch the colorful sunrise in front of the desert camp. Then, you can select your return transfer from the camp by either camels or our comfortable 4WD vehicle.
Then a short ride to the small village of Khamlia, where you will see the african traditional music (Gnawa music). Then we will head to Rissani to explore the souk. It is lively in Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday.
Afterwards, we’ll take you to the stunning Draa Valley in Agdz, a beautiful sight you won’t miss. After a long day, Ouarzazate calls you to spend the last night of your adventure.
In the evening, you’ll arrive at your accommodation in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, we will explore Ouarzazate, commonly known as the Hollywood of Africa, Atlas Film Studios, where iconic films have been filmed. Our expedition leads us through Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah to Telouet Kasbah, with a lunch break along the way.
We drive through the Tizi N Ticka pass and the High Atlas Mountains, including stops to take pictures. Finally, we make it to Marrakech in the Late evening, and our adventure ends.
