We will start our expedition around 8:00 from your accommodation in Marrakech. Traveling over the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi N Tichka Pass, you’ll see Berber villages lining the main route on the mountainside, away from the river. Olive trees and various palms border the valleys, and you may spot groups of goats and sheep tended by Berber women.
We will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, featured in many movies, including Gladiator (2000), Game of Thrones (2011–2019), and Time Bandits (1981). After a lunch break, we’ll continue our desert trip toward Boumalne Dades, passing through Ouarzazate, Skoura, and the Roses Valley.
Before reaching your accommodation in Dades Gorges, we’ll stop to see a unique rock formation called Monkey Fingers. Dinner and overnight stay in Dades.
After a tasty breakfast, we will continue our expedition and travel to the Merzouga desert through the Todra River, with its palm groves and Berber villages. We will visit Todra Canyon in Tinghir, with several stops for photos along the way and a lunch break. In the afternoon, we continue through Tinejdad and Erfoud, the gateway to the desert.
Once we arrive, you will join the camel caravan trek deep into the heart of the desert to watch the sunset on top of high dunes and experience sandboarding. Later on, you will spend the night at the camp and enjoy a tasty dinner and Berber songs under the stars.
Today, it is worth waking up early to watch the sunrise at the nearest dune. After a tasty breakfast at the camp, you will choose either to ride camels or take a 4×4 car transfer to the hotel, where you will meet your guide and start the adventure toward the Berber nomads. You will have the chance to see the seasonal lakes, Dayet Srij and Yasmina.
Before heading to the nomads, we will visit Khamlia village and enjoy some Gnawa songs, then meet one of the nomad families, sharing time connecting and learning about their rich culture. Then, across the dunes to the hotel, followed by a delicious lunch.
Later, you will have free time; you can swim, walk on the dunes next to the hotel, or experience an ATV quad or buggy ride. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, meet your driver and travel to Fes via Ziz Valley, with a stop along the way for the stunning view. Continue to Midelt City with a lunch break, then head to Ifrane.
