Fes ⇢ Cedar Forest ⇢ Midelt ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga.

Our Fes to Merzouga desert tour 3-day journey begins in the morning, we pick you up from your accommodation and head to the Sahara desert. Across the Middle High Altas Mountains, we will visit Ifrane, the Switzerland tone of Morocco, and then head to Azrou. Here in Cedar Forest, you will get the opportunity to see some Barbary Monkeys.

Later, we will visit Midelt, pass by Tizi n’Talghamt, and travel through the Ziz Valley on our way to the Sahara desert, passing through Errachidia and Erfoud. As we reach the Merzouga desert, our camels will be ready to take us on a journey through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. The excursion takes around 40 minutes. Upon reaching a high dune, you’ll have time to enjoy the sunset and try sandboarding.

The sun sets down, and we ride our camels again continuing traveling across the dunes to our Berber camp. Upon reaching the camp, you will be provided with your private tent. Have a cup of tea and relax.

Later after dinner our team will set up a fire and we sit around listening to the traditional Berber music with traditional instruments. During this party, you will play the traditional drums with the locals.

Full Day Merzouga Exploration.

On the second day at the camp, it’s worth waking up early to watch the most beautiful sunrise you will ever see from the nearest dune. After taking a shower, breakfast will be prepared.

Later, you’ll ride your camels across the dunes back to the departure point, where we will begin our 4×4 desert excursion around the Merzouga desert. The first stop on our desert trip is the seasonal Lake Dayet Srij.

Dayet Srij Lake is one of the best places in the Merzouga desert, where you might spot some desert birds, including flocks of flamingos and ravens. Our next visit is to Khamlia village, home of the Gnawa, where you’ll have the chance to listen to traditional Gnawa music.

Please note that a tip is appreciated (or we can skip the Khamlia visit). After that, we will visit the historical site of Mefes before heading across the dunes to meet the nomadic families, where we will be welcomed with a cup of mint tea.

While visiting the nomadic families, you will have the opportunity to meet the locals and learn about their way of life. Afterward, we will head to Erg Chebbi, passing by the seasonal Lake Yasmina on our way to the village of Hassi Labied.

At this spot, we will visit a garden near the dunes to learn how they source water from the desert and take a stroll through the garden. We conclude our 4×4 desert tour around the Erg Chebbi dunes as we arrive at our hotel or riad, where you will spend the night.

Merzouga ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Midelt ⇢ Fes.

On the last day of our 3-day tour from Fes, we will say goodbye to the desert, filled with wonderful memories. We will travel back to Fes through Rissani, Erfoud, and Errachidia, enjoying the stunning views of the Ziz Valley, home to over 700,000 palm trees.
